About Us

Mission Statement:

Science Policy Initiative (SPIN) is a student-led club at the intersection of science and policy. Our mission is three-fold:

  1. Inspire the Caltech community to participate in informed science policy discussions (and care about the broader context of their work).
  2. Educate the Caltech community about science communication, policy, and advocacy.
  3. Facilitate opportunities to engage with policy stakeholders and take action.
SPIN partners regularly with the Center for Teaching, Learning, and Outreach, the Caltech Y Social Activism Speaker Series, and the Caltech Office of Government Relations. We receive funding from the Linde Center for Science Society and Policy (LCSSP).
